Anton Zappelli has taken bronze in the R6 50m Rifle Prone Mixed SH1 at the Al Ain 2017 World Shooting Para Sport World Cup, his first R6 World Cup medal.
“I’m very happy with my first medal in Prone," said a very happy Anton. “It has been very good week for me, making two finals and winning the medal."
Para-Shooting National Coach Miro Sipek added "Anton has worked very hard in last few years. Even without a proper shooting range in Perth he is constantly improving his performances in both his events. With a better daily training environment I'm confident Anton will improve even more and win more medals all around the world."
“It's great to see Anton on the podium again. He is relatively new to the sport of shooting, but this performance at the beginning of the Paralympic cycle will give him great confidence as he strives toward Tokyo in 2020,” commented Shooting Australia CEO Damien Marangon.
With Gold Medals from Penny Smith and James Willett and a World Cup Final first for Dane Sampson Australian target shooting has made an incredibly strong start to 2017.
