SHOOTING: Australia's Catherine Skinner has won gold in her Olympic debut in women's trap shooting.
Skinner shot 12/15 targets, one more than her opponent Natalie Rooney of New Zealand.
She becomes Australia's fifth gold medallist in trap shooting and the first woman since Suzy Balogh at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games to climb to the top of the podium.
This is Australia's third gold medal and fourth overall of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Skinner, 26, progressed through to the final six in a shoot-off before then shooting 14/15 targets in the semi-final to book her ticket in the final.
Laetisha Scanlan also made the semi-final but shot 10/15 targets to finish fifth after qualifying first overall.
