It is with great pleasure that Shooting Australia announces the appointment of Catherine Berry into the role of Events Manager, whose primary responsibility is as the Shooting Manager for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Catherine is currently the Executive Officer of the National Rifle Association of Australia (NRAA) and has been in this role for more than a decade. In this role Catherine has developed a wonderful mix of sports administration, event management and stakeholder relations skills and experience making her the ideal candidate.

Catherine has vast experience in leading and managing shooting teams within Australia and overseas and has also delivered as the event manager both national and international events.

This experience combined with her knowledge of the Belmont Shooting complex, including the delivery of international and domestic events at this site and her relationship with the varying stakeholders uniquely positions Catherine to fill this role.

Catherine is on secondment from the NRAA to fulfil this role and we would like to thank them for their collaboration and partnership in helping to make this happen. Catherine will take up this role with Shooting Australia starting Wednesday the 27th January 2016. This role will see her transition from working part-time in 2016, increasing to a full-time load through 2017 and early 2018 as she is seconded to work under the direction of the Gold Coast Organising Committee.

We wish Catherine all the best in this role and know that she will do a wonderful job for our sport and in the delivery of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
