Shooting Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Sachs as General Manager, High Performance.
After a highly-competitive recruitment process Adam was selected unanimously by a panel that included representatives from the Australian Institute of Sport and the Victorian Institute of Sport.
Adam’s appointment comes at an important time for the sport of shooting. After delivering World Championship medals and a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games we must ensure that our re-building and momentum continue. Adam brings a brilliant pedigree as athlete, coach, official, and administrator, but more importantly he is the right person to lead our program and effect the cultural change required for us to sustain and improve our international success.
Adam was the outstanding candidate from a large pool of applicants due to his diverse experience within sport in Australia. Adam has previously the held roles of Performance Director for Gymnastics Australia, High Performance Manager for Volleyball Australia, Senior Project Officer for Sport and Recreation Victoria, as well as being a Coach with the South Australian Institute of Sport. He also has extensive experience in planning and change management within high performance sporting systems.
Adam brings to the General Manager, High Performance's role a deep understanding of the Australian sport system and a network of strong relationships. He will be a valuable asset for Shooting Australia and a great leader of our high performance programs. Incidentally, Adam has already become known to some of our athletes when he took over the duties of Shooting Team Leader at the recent Rio Olympic Games.
Adam starts with Shooting Australia on Monday 10th October 2016.
