Natalie Smith – Senior Female Athlete of the Year

Massive congratulations to our London Paralympic Games bronze medallist who was honoured for her outstanding 2015 sporting achievements at the 35th state para-sports awards announced by Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association on Friday 20 November.

Natalie made a major comeback from injury and illness in an effort to qualify for the 2016 Paralympics in shooting.

She won gold in the women’s 10m air rifle standing event at the 2015 World Cup event and second in the 50m sport rifle three-position event at the World Cup in Croatia.

Natalie is currently ranked World Number One in 10m Air Rifle Standing and 50m sport rifle three-position. She is also ranked in the top 20 in the world for the mixed 10m air rifle prone event.
Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association CEO Ray Epstein praised the quality of finalists for this year’s awards across the 13 categories.
“The competition in the sporting categories was very tight, given that many athletes are aiming to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympics,” he said.
